Go to the login screen at https://suite.webtrekk.com.
You don't have login credentials yet? Then please refer to your administrator or contact us: support@webtrekk.com.
After the login you will see the suite with its various products. What products you see has been determined by the system administrator in the account configuration.
You can change the default language and password under "My Profile" at the top right below your login name.
Now select "Intelligence".
For a first impression of your metrics switch to the traffic analysis (Visitors > Traffic). It provides an initial overview of the usage behavior trend for the website over the past 30 days. Corresponding metrics have been pre-selected for evaluation.
User interface composition
The user interface consists of the following elements:
The analysis view consists of the following elements:
Main navigation
The main navigation contains various elements.
"Reports" and "My Analyses" are at the top. This is where you can store your analyses.
Both standard Mapp Intelligence reports and custom reports made available to you by other users can be included under "Reports".
Initially the "My Analyses" section is empty.
Analyses are assigned to various categories in the main menu:
- Visitors: Supports the analysis of time-based analyses (such as day, week), geography and technology.
- Marketing: Includes referrer, search phrase and campaign analyses.
- Navigation: Pages and sections of pages, the use of links, forms and processes are examined.
- E-Commerce: Supports the analysis of website goals, products and orders.
- Video Analytics: Supports the analysis of video content.
Since the system administrator can assign specific rights to each login, you may not be able to see all of the available entries.
Accessing and editing analyses
You can navigate in the main menu and access other analyses
How about a page analysis for instance? In order to do so, navigate to the "Navigation" menu entry and select "Pages". Analyses that support the detailed evaluation of websites are displayed. In order to now display how often your specific websites have been accessed, select "Pages" again.
Changing the analysis period: How can I show a different analysis period?
The calendar is located above the diagram. You can select a different time period here. Click on the calendar to do so.
Pre-configured calendar periods are available in the drop-down box.
You can also define your own time periods. In order to do so, select the start date with the first click and the end date with the second click. Now you just have to confirm your selection by clicking "Apply".
Navigating in the data table: Do you want to see more results?
The data table only visualizes a certain number of entries. You can increase the number of entries to display or use the navigation elements to scroll through the pages and find the page you are looking for.
Adding key figures: How can I add additional key figures to the analysis?
There are a number of pre-configured key figures (metrics and formulas) for each analysis. Additional key figures can be added by clicking the small “+” symbol to the right in the table.
Now you can search for specific key figures or browse the main navigation points. You can choose the group view or list view. This can be changed at any time by clicking the selection dialogue above the search field.
Enter "Visitors" for example in order to add this metric.
The metrics is added when you click on it.
Use drag & drop to change the order as desired.
How are dimensions different from metrics and formulas?
Every analysis is performed based on at least one dimension. For example, the "Page" dimension is used for a page analysis. An analysis with more than one dimension is displayed as a pivot table.
For example, you can enrich the "Origin Type" dimension ("Marketing > Traffic Origin > Origin Type") with the additional "Pages" dimension. The sequence can be changed using drag & drop. Key figures (metrics and formulas) can now be shown for each dimension.
Mapp Intelligence differentiates between:
- Dimension: What exactly is analyzed? Examples include pages, browsers and search engines.
- Metric: What were the values? These key figures are varied and answer specific questions.
- Formula: What are the calculated values (percentages, sums, averages, …) of my key figures?
Sorting key figures
All pages recorded in the analysis period are now shown in the analysis. The sequence is determined by the access frequency. The "Page Impressions" metric measures each page call for this purpose. By default, the analysis is sorted by this metric.
This is indicated by the small black arrow directly next to the key figure name. The arrow with the point facing down indicates a "descending" sorting order starting with the largest number.
What sorting options are available?
You can reverse the sort order by right-clicking the "Page Impressions" entry and selecting the ascending instead of the descending sort order.
Then the pages accessed the least during the analysis period are listed at the top.
Adjusting the visualization of the data table: Why are some key figures highlighted in the data table?
Such a visualization helps you to find relevant information more quickly and can be activated individually for each key figure.
Right-click on the name of a metric/formula to open a context menu. Select the "Visualization" entry from the menu and choose the desired display option.
How can diagrams be adjusted?
Various display options are available above the diagram area. Click on the small button above the graphic.
If you want to add key figures to the diagram, open the context menu for the corresponding key figure again and select "Show in chart". Key figures can be added either to the primary axis or secondary axis of the diagram.
Searching and filtering
You are looking for something specific? Use the quick search feature to find specific entries.
Example: The search engine analysis "Marketing > Referrer > Search Engines" displays all search engines that have been recorded. With corresponding quick search input, you can filter out a specific entry as well as entries with the same root. You can use "*" as a placeholder (wild card).
Do you want to perform an individual search?
Use "Custom Filter" for more complex filtering, for instance by device class.
The configuration of filters is versatile. For example, you may want to display calls from search engines with the use of mobile devices. Here you can filter individually as follows:
Saving analyses
You have now opened, edited and changed your first analysis. This analysis can be saved for later use. In order to do so, select "Add to".
Now you can save the analysis at "My Analyses" or as a report element (as part of an existing report, or as a new report). Each single analysis saved at "My Analyses" is only visible to you personally. In contrast, reports may contain more than one analysis. They can be shared with other users and sent out automatically.
Basic metrics
What is the meaning of the various key figures?
Many different key figures are available in Mapp Intelligence. Each key figure refers to the dimension being analyzed (page for instance).
Some basic key figures (explained using a page analysis as an example):
- Visitors: How many visitors came to the page in the analysis period?
- Visits: How many visits did the page have in total? A visit ends after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- Page Impressions: How many times was the page accessed?
- Page Duration Avg: On average, how much time did a visitor spend on a specific page?
- Bounce Rate %: What is the proportion of visitors who only saw this one page during a visit, compared to all entries?
Resources and help
I don’t know what a certain key figure or dimension means. Where can I find this information?
Most likely you will not know the meaning and functioning of all dimensions and key figures. A corresponding description is found in the help section . To access it, click "Help" in the context menu of a key figure or use the corresponding icon in the analysis path.
